La Quinta Syrah Port Paso Robles bottle product image
  • Brand: La Quinta ®
  • Varietal: Syrah Port
  • Appellation: Paso Robles
  • Vintage: Nonvintage
  • Description: La Quinta Syrah Port is considered a ruby port due to its dark red color. Paso Robles provides an ideal climate for the ripening of Syrah grapes to 25-27º Brix. Each variety is then harvested and fermented separately. At approximately 8-10º Brix, California brandy is added to arrest the fermentation. At this time, each lot is evaluated individually. Portions of the various components are combined in order to create the rich, full-bodied style of our La Quinta Syrah Port.

San Simeon Syrah Monterey bottle product image
  • Brand: San Simeon ®
  • Varietal: Syrah
  • Appellation: Monterey
  • Vintage: 2007
  • Description: The highly versatile Syrah grape is grown in many climates, but the coastal microclimate of the Loma Vista Vineyard is ideal for the development of intense flavors and aromas, such as ripe plum and wild berry. All vineyard lots are fermented separately in small, open-top tanks in which the cap is “punched down” in order to delicately extract color without creating excessive tannins. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 16 months. Our Syrah reveals deep color, soft tannins, and a lengthy finish with vanilla, oak spice, and cinnamon nuances from barrel aging.
